"Raone" this propriatory name was given to dedicate this wine to Raone de lo Tufo, the first Norman feudal lord of the castle of Tufo, who lived in the XII century.

Grape variety: Greco di Tufo 100%

Soil: Clayey-calcareous with consistent sulfurous veins. Soils rich in calcareous clay and mineral components,
perfect for obtaining wines with intense aromas and particular mineral notes.

Vineyard location: in the heart of the municipality of Tufo, locality Vignale, above the Di Marzo's old sulfur mines.

Exposure and altitude: South/South-east at 300-350 meters a.s.l.

Vine age: 5-25 yrs. avg.

Vine training: horizontal counter-espalier with guyot pruning

Density: 2,500 vines per hectare (2.47 acres)

Area: 1 hectare = 2.47 acres

Yield per hectare: 5 tons

Harvest: mid-October

Winemaking: The grapes are rigorously picked by hand. Only the best flower must is used for the Greco di Tufo "RAONE".
The must is fermented with great care in stainless steel tanks with the use of indigenous yeasts, without temperature control. Subsequently the wine rests for 6 months on its lees to give complexity and structure. It will be bottled at the beginning of the summer following the harvest and sold after an additional 6 months of aging in bottle no less than 1 year after the harvest.

Organoleptic properties: Straw yellow wine sometimes with golden reflections. As for the smell, it is outlined by a mineral and sulfurous
stamp. On the palate it is juicy and sharp, with strong mineral and saline matrix.

Pairing: Suitable for hearty taste dishes, soups, grilled fish, blue and aged cheeses; also goes well with meat-based first courses.

Tips: Acquires greater elegance if aged for a few years.
